Consumption causes Terrorism?

Over-consumption is a contributing factor to global anti-western sentiment and thus terrorism?
"Aw come on..."
The average modern North American consumes triple the amount of an average person right after the second world war?
"Aw come on...," "Yeah, well duh, we have more money now..."
Our consumption level has not led to a corresponding increase in happiness or contentment?
"Ha ha...," "Aw come on, what's wrong with someone wanting to buy their kid an Elmo toy?"
Nice to see that CNN is hiring their on-screen talent based on their reflective capacity and critical journalistic skills rather than simply aesthetic appeal. I would expect the type of response that this woman offered to a serious global problem from a 12 year old mall-rat - "But I wanna buy stuff!!!" What a thoroughly depressing piece of video...
Wait a minute are you trying to tell me that you have problem with a woman as a news anchor? (nudge nudge wink wink) It is depressing! Why does the trump card have to be the almighty elmo doll?
