“According to Dobson, Christians should not let environmental “doomsday theories” distract them from abortion and same-sex marriage. Stewardship, while crucial, doesn’t require any particular action on global warming.” – Steve Thorngate –Sojourners
So ol’ Jimbo here figures, “that Genesis mandate (does not) justify “pillaging the earth” but insists that environmental concerns should always be secondary to “basic human welfare.”
But environmental issues affect people not just some idea of “the earth”.
Round, round we go

Although I'm not as much of an 'environmentalist' as I used to be, I'm still of the belief that the most pro-active environmentalists should be Christians. We should be p*ssed off enough when God's creation is being destroyed that we actually do something to preserve what He has given/entrusted to us. Instead, I've discovered very few Christians who actually care about environmental issues, or who make decisions about their daily habits/purchases based on what will have the least negative impact on the enviroment.
Maybe Rick Warren should write "A Purpose Driven Environmentalist." Christians seem to love his books.
People are seemingly changed only by necessity, and cost involved. Moving to Saskatchewan made me realize how environmental I had become. I could believe how much stuff is simply thrown out in the trash and how wasteful energy is used.
We are far more likely to manipulate creation to suit our needs then to care for the world we were placed in.
More and more, Dobson represents the Old Guard Christian who has lost a grip on God's purpose.
